Smart Tribes by Christine Comaford

smarttribesA few months back I listened to a presentation on team building, and the speaker recommended the book,
Smart Tribes by Christine Comaford. I recently had the opportunity to read the book and found it to be very insightful.

I have to admit when I started reading through the introductory chapter, it seemed to me more of a sales pitch than anything else (citing various percentages on revenue and productivity increases for those organizations who used the author’s techniques). However as I read through the book, I found a wealth of information with regards to human behavior and tested methods for helping people work together.

From the get go I found myself jotting down words of wisdom from the various chapters. For example, “Fear pushes people to take action. Vision pulls people not only to action but also to care about the outcome.”

A must read for anyone trying to build successful teams within an organization.
